Free Printable Bible Discovery Journal

This free Bible Discovery Journal is designed to help you immerse yourself in the living Word of God. Whether you are looking to grow your faith or rediscover it, this journal provides a simple, structured way to spend time with the Lord.

The journal is designed to be used one page a day, guiding you to focus on specific passages to remember and meditate on God’s promises to you.

How to Use This Journal (The Lectio Divina Method)

The format of this journal is loosely based on Lectio Divina, a centuries-old, contemplative method of reading the Bible. While the Latin name might sound complex, the process is quite simple and requires no preparation—just come as you are.

The journal guides you through four distinct parts: Lectio (Read), Meditatio (Meditation), Oratio (Prayer), and Contemplatio (Contemplation).

Your Daily Steps:

  • Prepare: Get into a quiet space, clear your mind, and pray to invite God into your time.
  • Read: Slowly read the day’s passage several times (quietly, out loud, or by writing it down).
  • Reflect: Note the specific words or phrases that you are drawn to. Don’t try to “study” or analyze them; simply notice them and ask God to clarify what He is speaking to you.
  • Respond: Write down a prayer, starting with thanks and praise.
  • Listen: Put your pen down and sit quietly with God. Rein in your mind and note any new thoughts or actions you sense the Lord is leading you toward.

This printable includes 21 days of pre-selected scripture readings for you to journal through, including:
