Printable Countdown to Easter

If you are tired of hearing your kids ask how many days until Easter, you can print this Easter countdown and even personalize it with your child’s name or your family name.
There are three different versions.

You can either print it without a title (simply delete the title first) or personalize the title and then print it. All the text can be changed if you prefer to use your own title.
When is Easter 2027?
Easter Sunday 2027 falls on Sunday, March 28, 2027 (Western Christian calendar). Holy Week begins Sunday, March 21 with Palm Sunday, runs through Good Friday on March 26 and Holy Saturday on March 27, ending with Easter Sunday on March 28. Orthodox Easter 2027 falls later — Sunday, May 2, 2027 — because Orthodox churches follow the Julian calendar.
Whether you’re counting down from Lent (40 days), Holy Week (7 days), or just the final week, the printables below cover every framing.

Print on letter-size (8.5″ × 11″) or A4 paper using your home printer. Standard paper works for most designs; cardstock is better for designs you plan to laminate, hang, or reuse year after year. Color in the design with markers, crayons, watercolors, or stickers — many families turn this into a Lent or Holy Week activity for kids, with one square colored each day leading up to Easter Sunday.
For families with younger children, the countdown doubles as a religious or educational activity — pair each day of coloring with a Bible verse, a small act of kindness, or a daily Easter prep task (writing cards, preparing the Easter basket, dyeing eggs).

Is the printable Easter countdown free?
Yes. All printables on this page are completely free, with no signup, no email, and no watermark. Download the PDF, print at home, and use as many times as you like.
What sizes do the Easter printables come in?
All printables are designed for standard letter-size (8.5″ × 11″) or A4 paper. They print clearly on any home inkjet or laser printer. For longer-lasting use, print on cardstock or laminate after printing.
When should I start the Easter countdown?
It depends on the tradition you follow. For Lent, start 40 days before Easter (excluding Sundays) — for Easter 2027, that’s Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, February 17, 2027. For Holy Week, start Palm Sunday on March 21, 2027. For a final week countdown, start March 22, 2027.
Can I use these printables for a Sunday school class or family devotional?
Yes. Many families and Sunday school teachers use the printables for a daily Lent or Holy Week activity. Pair each square with a Bible verse, a daily kindness, or a small Easter prep task to make the countdown a meaningful daily practice.
Do you have an online Easter countdown timer too?
Yes. Visit our Easter countdown timer page for a free customizable digital countdown — you can pick a background, set the date, share with family by link, or embed on any blog or website.
Will the printables work for Orthodox Easter?
Yes. The printable countdown structure is the same — just count from your start date to Orthodox Easter on Sunday, May 2, 2027 (rather than Western Easter on March 28, 2027). The designs aren’t denomination-specific, so they work for any Christian tradition.
