How this journal prompt generator works

The journal prompt generator asks how you’re feeling and what’s actually on your mind, then gives you a prompt that meets you there.

You answer two questions:

  1. How are you feeling right now? Eight moods to choose from — anxious, sad, stuck, grateful, curious, overwhelmed, hopeful, or frustrated.
  2. What’s at the heart of it? Type whatever’s on your mind, or pick from six areas: Myself, Healing, Love, Family, Growth, or Shadow. Each one opens up to more specific subcategories — self-love, inner child, breakup, attachment style, manifestation, self-sabotage, and more.

Then the generator gives you one prompt — gentle by default. If it doesn’t quite land, tap “Another angle” for a different take on the same topic. If you’re ready to go further, tap “Go deeper” and the prompts become more probing. Three depth levels, on your terms.

Once you’ve got a prompt that resonates, write right there on the page. Word count tracks your progress. Your entry saves automatically as you type. When you’re done, copy it, email it to yourself, or download it as a PDF.

Why use a journal prompt generator
