What is the difference between the formats?

How to Create a Receipt Maker
You do not have to purchase a receipt maker to create professional receipts for your business. If used correctly, our templates can easily meet your needs.
- Select any of the receipt templates from this page.
- Add your company details and all the details that will repeat themselves each time you use it.
- Give the receipt a number.
- Create a receipt folder and save the document so that the receipt number appears in the filename.
- Each time you create a new receipt, save it as the next consecutive number and change the receipt number accordingly.
- Fill in the details of that specific transaction.
- Print or send by email.

How to Print Receipt Templates
Before you print, type all details and double check you have no typos. This is a payment receipt, so it is important that there are no errors.
Go to file -> print to print the document.
Make sure your paper size is correctly set and the orientation is set to portrait.
If you are planning on filling in the details of the transaction by hand, then you can print multiple copies of the printable receipt template. You will then fill out each blank receipt form when relevant. Don’t forget to change the receipt number on each copy.
Invoice Receipt Template
You can use the same invoice template as an invoice and as a receipt. Simply change the title from invoice to receipt. Or you can add a “paid” watermark across the page. To add a PAID watermark, open the Word version of the invoice template. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click WordArt. Select the text style that you want to use for your watermark. Select the watermark, and drag it to the position that you want. Select the text inside the watermark, and then type PAID. Here are two sample invoice receipts.

What is the difference between an invoice and a receipt?
An invoice is issued for ordered services before payment is made.
Therefore, for future transactions, you will need an invoice template. A receipt is a paid invoice. Therefore, a receipt is issued once payment has been made.
How to use our templates on Google Sheets or Google Docs
Google Sheets is a free online spreadsheet and Google docs is a free online word processor.
You can use Google Sheets or Google Docs to make an online receipt template. To do this, you will need to save the receipt template in Google Docs or Sheets.
- Download the Word version for Google Docs or the Excel version for Google Sheets.
- Open your Google Drive and click New.
- Select File upload.
- Select the Word or Excel doc and click Open. The file will now upload.
- Double-click the uploaded doc.
- Click Open with.
- Select Google Docs or Google Sheets.
- Edit your details.
