What is Manifestation?
What is the meaning of manifest? The word manifestation is used to describe the way something appears or comes into reality. It can also be defined as a process of bringing something into being. From a spiritual perspective, the word is used to describe how our thoughts and desires can manifest things we want. Manifestation is a power based on the law of attraction and positive thinking. Our thoughts affect the world outside us in a metaphysical way, attracting to us events, people, and objects that correspond to and mirror our thinking. Since we can attract both positive and negative things, we need to think positively in order to attract positive outcomes.
There are many ways in which people use the word ‘manifestation’. Manifestation may be seen as an indication from a higher power that our thoughts and desires are aligned with what we want to achieve, or it may be seen as a form of creative visualization where one imagines what they would like to happen in order for it to happen in real life.
What does it mean to Manifest Something?
The idea is that you can create your life, your world, and your reality by declaring it to be so. Manifestation is the process of bringing thoughts and desires into material form. It’s a process. You can manifest anything and everything – from healing to success to love to spiritual enlightenment. The idea of manifestation is not new. Humanity has been practicing it, whether consciously or subconsciously, since the beginning of time.
In order to manifest something, we need to think positively about acquiring or accomplishing it as the power of those positive thoughts is what will bring the manifestation about. Therefore, manifesting is the process whereby you use the law of attraction to turn your dreams into reality. You use attraction and positive thinking to bring something or someone into your life.
How to Write Manifestations
Before we start using the law of attraction to manifest something we need to know exactly what we want to manifest. To do this, you can create a manifest list. See “How to Manifest on Paper” below.

You can use the law of attraction to manifest anything or anyone you want. You can have, be, or do anything.
Things to Manifest
Things to manifest can include material things such as money or a home (see how to manifest money), or people such as a relationship or love (see how to manifest someone), a boyfriend, girlfriend, or a soulmate. There are no limits to what the law of attraction can give you.
You can manifest anything you want but you are going to want to use this power to get the things that are most important to you. Therefore, it is best to create a manifest list that you can revise from time to time. When you create a list you sit down and give thought to what you want to ensure that it is the most meaningful request that will make the most difference to your list. If you don’t have a manifest list then go ahead and create one before you start the process. Each time you get what you want from your list, cross it off and move to the next thing. Revise your manifest list regularly.
Can you manifest more than one thing at once?
You can manifest more than one thing at once but it isn’t advised at least not in the beginning when the process is still new to you. The reason is that you need to be very focused and generate powerful thoughts and feelings of having whatever you want now. The thoughts and feelings will be more powerful if you focus on one thing only.
How does manifestation work?
According to the law of attraction, when you focus your thoughts and beliefs on specific things then you will attract those things in your life. Every thought has a vibrational energy pattern that will resonate with similar things that already exist or will exist in the future. Your energy will match with similar energy. Therefore, you will meet people who are on the same wavelength as you. You will attract circumstances in your life that match your thoughts and beliefs. Since this will happen with both positive and negative thoughts and beliefs it is very important to focus on positive thoughts and beliefs and work on having a positive mindset.
Therefore, when you generate the thoughts and feelings that you will have when you have the things you want then the Universe will work to give you those things. Many of the ways to manifest are different methods to help you generate those thoughts and feelings.
What is the Universe?
When it comes to the law of attraction, you will find a lot of references to the Universe. The Universe can actually mean different things for different people and that is okay. It should symbolize whatever belief is right for you. This could be a belief in God, a greater power, karma, an energy source, or anything that you draw strength from or feel connected to. As long as you believe that the Universe knows what is right for you then it doesn’t really matter what your personal spiritual beliefs are.
How do you Manifest?
So you may be asking yourself, how do I manifest? How to ask the universe for something?

Step one: Make sure your desire is backed by inspiration and service

Step two: Believe the Universe will manifest your desire
Once you know your desire is backed by inspiration and service, you can have confidence that the Universe will make it happen. At this point, you can affirm your faith by stating your desire clearly or asking the Universe to deliver it.
Step three: You cannot force your desire into the world, but you can help the Universe bring it into being

Steps to Manifestation
The following simple steps will describe manifestation for beginners step-by-step.
Create a manifestation list
A manifest list includes all the things that you want to manifest in your life. Write down as many things as you want but review your manifestation list regularly to remove things that you no longer desire and to add new goals.
So you have decided what you want and now you need to understand how to manifest. There are many different ways to manifest:
What is Visualization?
Visualization is a powerful tool for creating the reality you want through imagination and focus. It is highly effective and it is used by many of the world’s most successful people (including athletes, politicians, and business people), who claim that it contributed to their achievements. A study on the construction system of the brain showed that visualizing your goals as if they have been achieved improved the chances of them actually manifesting. The power of visualization has been known and used for hundreds of years. Einstein, Newton, and Edison all mentioned visualization techniques to make dramatic changes in life. Einstein once said, “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” Dr. Charles Garfield, former NASA researcher and president of The Performance-Science Institute in Berkeley, California, has done extensive research on peak performers. His research shows that almost all world-class athletes and other peak performers are visualizers. They visualize their success before they succeed. They see it, feel it and experience it before they actually do it.
Visualization is effective for a number of reasons.
1) By visualizing a successful outcome, it helps you to break down barriers in your mind. This enables us to dream big and understand that anything is possible.
2) It prepares the mind for the desired outcome. When we prepare our minds for the desired outcome we will know exactly what to do and how to act when it happens. Have you ever been in a situation when you didn’t know what to say and then when you had time to think about it later said to yourself “I should have said or done….”? Visualization allows you to be prepared and to react in the best possible way when something happens. When you visualize situations and outcomes, you prepare yourself to respond appropriately and reach your desired outcome. You can also visualize alternative versions of your desired outcome to be prepared for any scenario. Life doesn’t always go as planned, however, when you are prepared for something you will be able to respond appropriately.
The more detailed your visualization is, the more effective it will be. Imagine what you will see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. The more engaged your senses are, the more realistic your visualization will be. This will deepen your self-programming which will help to manifest anything you want.
Visualization is the most powerful of all manifestation techniques. The idea is to visualize yourself achieving your goal no matter what it is. You need to picture the end result. Don’t think about how you get there but rather what it feels like to be there. When you visualize yourself achieving your goals, you generate thoughts and feelings of having whatever you wanted. You then emit that powerful frequency out into the Universe. The Law of Attraction will turn those pictures in your mind into reality.
How often should you practice visualization manifestation in order to manifest your goals? Dr. Joe Vitale, says you should do this virtually daily unless it starts to feel like a chore. You want to be excited when you visualize so if you are not in the mood then don’t do it.
A common misconception about manifesting is that it is enough to request something and then visualize it in order to manifest it. This is not true. You need to put yourself in the vibrational space. You need to vibrate at a certain frequency. To do this, you need to imagine how you will feel when you receive it, understand why you want it, and to take action. The Universe will provide opportunities but you need to take them.

Every day write down your affirmation and focus on the words. Visualize them coming true. There are different methods that determine how many times you do this. For example the:
Using an Image
- Find an image that represents your goal or whatever you want to manifest. For example, if you want to lose weight find a thin picture of yourself or someone else. If you want to buy a home find a picture of a home you like. Sit down and relax and then look at the picture for a few minutes.
- Do this every day.
- You can also create a vision board or manifestation board and put your images there or you can tape them in various places in your home. See our free vision board app.
- Keep doing this until you reach your goals.
Creating an Image
With this method, you don’t use a physical image, instead, you create one in your mind. You then either visualize this image in your mind or daydream about it.
- Create an image that represents your goal or whatever you want to manifest. For example, if you want to lose weight imagine yourself thin and lean. If you want to buy a home, daydream about your dream home.
- Imagine all the details of the image in your mind. Go into as much detail as you can.
- Keep doing this until you reach your goals.
The Whisper Method is a manifestation technique that involves using positive affirmations whispered repeatedly to oneself in a relaxed state of mind. The idea behind the method is that whispering affirmations repeatedly can help bypass the conscious mind and send a direct message to the subconscious mind, which is believed to be responsible for shaping one’s beliefs and habits.
Meditation is a powerful tool for manifestation. When you practice manifestation meditation you focus on whatever you are trying to manifest and your vibrational frequency aligns with your goals. How do you perform manifestation meditation? Sit somewhere quiet and relax. You can lie down if it is more comfortable for you.
Put some relaxing music on in the background. You will find many options available on YouTube. Take a few deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Try to make each one deeper than the previous one. If thoughts enter your mind, acknowledge them and take your focus back to your breathing. Recognize all the things you are grateful for and visualize them. This will put you in a positive frame of mind and gratitude is one of the best methods of manifestation. Expectation is a powerful force of manifestation. Expect the things you want, and don’t expect the things you don’t want. That is why the Lucky Girl Syndrome is a powerful manifestation method. Doing this instills confidence and optimism that can help us overcome obstacles and setbacks.
Belief is a manifestation method because our beliefs shape our thoughts, feelings, and actions, which in turn shape our reality. When we believe in something, we align our thoughts and emotions with that belief, and this can attract corresponding experiences and outcomes into our lives. Belief can also give us a sense of confidence and motivation, which can inspire us to take action towards our goals.
For example, if you believe that you are worthy of love and a fulfilling relationship, you are more likely to attract and pursue healthy relationships. Another way to visualize yourself achieving your goals is to write how you feel on paper. This is often called scripting. Writing something on paper helps you stay focused. It is more effective than typing. Visualize yourself reaching your goal or receiving whatever it is you want. Write in the present tense about how you feel about having reached your goals. Describe your goals in detail and exactly how you feel about reaching them. Write about your thoughts and feelings in as much detail as you can. Express your gratitude for having received what you wished for. You might feel uncomfortable doing this at first since you haven’t really received it yet but it will get easier the more you do it.
Positive affirmations are positive statements or thoughts that a person writes down or repeats to themselves or aloud as a way of motivating themselves to do something. Positive affirmations work by convincing the mind that what you want is already yours. This works by raising your self-esteem and creating an attitude of positivity. Positive affirmations can be used to overcome any negativity because they target the subconscious mind which is the root cause of all negative thoughts and actions. Negative energy is very bad for manifestation because we manifest anything we feel whether it is positive or negative. Therefore, we need to work on our negative energy and turn it into positive energy. Before you use affirmations for positive manifestation, you need to understand how to write affirmations. Once you have written your manifestation affirmation, say them out loud, in your mind, or write them down on paper. Some people even like to record themselves reading them and play it back to themselves whenever they can.
Write affirmation quotes in your journal or take affirmation cards with you wherever you go.
Identify your limiting beliefs. These are the beliefs you have about yourself that may be inhibiting your progress. For each limiting belief that you identify, write an affirmation in its place and replace any negative feelings with positive ones. For example, if your limiting belief is “I will never find a partner” reverse it with “There are so many men out there that it is unlikely I will not meet someone compatible” If your limiting belief is “I will never find a job” reverse it with “I am very capable and have many skills and good qualities and I will find a company who wants to hire me”.

- get a new job: I am so excited to start my new dream job
- get someone to ask you out: I am so happy Sam asked me out
- receive $1,000: I am so happy to receive $1,000
- lose weight: I love being thin and fit

Manifest on Paper
How to manifest something by writing it down? Writing manifestation is a good way to use the law of attraction to get whatever you want. It should be noted that it isn’t enough to just write your manifestation. While you are writing manifestation you need to generate the thoughts and emotions you will feel when you get what you want. If you feel gratitude while you are writing then you will attract even more good things. Manifesting on paper is good for beginners as it is done via a structured system. These methods are more suitable for a one-time event to manifest something or someone specific. It is perfect for the first time you try to manifest something.
Some people might be tempted to use the writing manifestation technique online and type instead of write. In fact, the manifest journals below are typeable. However, it is better to write on them than to type. When you manifest on paper in your own handwriting you are more present and focused than when you type. It is therefore much better to write than to type.
Ways to Manifest on Paper
555 Manifestation Method
According to the 555 method, you write what you want 55 times a day every day for 5 consecutive days. You need to write the manifestation affirmation 55 times in one sitting. You cannot spread it out over the day. Repetition is very important to send signals to the Universe. 5×55 manifestation is good for people who lose interest quickly since it is only 5 days long.
777 Manifestation Technique
According to the 777 method, you write what you want 7 times in the morning and 7 times in the evening for 7 consecutive days.
333 Manifestation Method
According to the 333 method, you write what you want 33 times a day every day for 3 consecutive days.
369 Manifestation Method
According to the 369 method, you write what you want 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the afternoon and 9 times in the evening for 33 consecutive days.
Whereas the methods above are one-time methods to manifest something you want you can also turn manifestation into a daily habit. In The Secret, Rhonda Byrne explains that to use the law of attraction to your advantage, make it a habitual way of being and not just a one-time event. In the book Super Attractor: “Methods for Manifesting a Life Beyond Your Wildest Dreams”, Gabrielle Bernstein recommends a method called the Daily Design Method to start your day right and create the day you want each day. Start each morning by asking yourself a few questions:
- How do I want to feel today?
- Who do I want to be today?
- What do I want to receive today?
- What do I want to give today?
Answering these questions will keep your energy aligned exactly as it should be. This positive energy will come through in each and every interaction you have throughout the day.

- The gratitude section is to get you to appreciate what you have before you ask for something else which is an important part of manifestation.

- In the visualization section, you must create the feelings that you will feel and the thoughts that you will have when the Universe gives you what you want. When you visualize, you generate powerful thoughts and feelings of having whatever it is you want. The law of attraction then returns that reality to you, just as you saw it in your mind.

The best way to get what you want is to appreciate what you have and develop an attitude of gratitude. Feeling appreciation for everything around you, both the good and the bad, keeps your energy vibrating at a high, positive frequency. Since the Universe returns the same energy you give off, practicing appreciation will help you attract more of what you want. Proactively spread your positive energy by telling others what you appreciate – especially if it’s them. This way, your appreciation will become contagious and be reflected back to you even more strongly. As you make gratitude a daily practice, you’ll become more aligned with the Universe and manifest your dreams more easily.
According to The Secret, this is the best way to use the law of attraction. When you are grateful for what you have, you will attract more good things. Giving thanks for what you have is a powerful attractive force to bring more of what you want into your life. However, when you give thanks for what you want as if it is already yours then that is also very powerful.
One of the best ways to express gratitude on a regular basis and to make it part of your life is to read gratitude affirmations daily or to keep a gratitude journal. You will find joy when you learn to appreciate the small things. Recognize the happiness in being in nature, hugging a friend, doing an activity you enjoy, etc. Recognize the love that surrounds you by appreciating the small things or helping others. Once you learn to find joy in these ordinary experiences, the Universe will deliver what you seek.
Don’t forget about giving back. One of the best ways to build your own energy is to serve the Universe and be happy for other people’s success. Let go of jealousy and competitiveness. If you are looking for love, don’t feel discouraged by a friend’s engagement. Instead, share her happiness. Take that positive energy and redirect it into your own life.
Reframe your mind
Ask yourself what you will think when you reach your goals. According to Angelina Lombardo, the author of “A Spiritual Entrepreneur”, ask yourself ‘What would my future self be thinking?’” Reframing your mind will enable you to reach your goals. “‘Being’ the person who already has, does, and feels your goals, dreams, and desires helps you become that person”.
Act as If
Another way to manifest your dream life is to act as if you are living it. Once you have set your goals and created your manifest list visualize how you would live if you were living this dream. Now, do everything you would do, think like you would, act like you would, and pretend you are living your dream. As the saying goes “fake it till you make it”. This is a very powerful manifestation method since you are visualizing your dream life and feeling what you would like to feel and aligning your actions with your goals. If you can do this method then go for it. Soon you will find that you are not pretending anymore and it is actually your life! The Pillow Method
What is the pillow method?
The pillow method is a manifestation technique that involves you visualizing the object of your desire, writing a manifestation affirmation, and putting it under your pillow at night. Think about the affirmation before you go to sleep and as you wake up in the morning. See how to write manifestation affirmations above.
Pillow method manifestation
The pillow method of manifestation is one of the easiest methods of manifestation. It requires hardly any effort on your part. You can also combine it with other methods of manifestation. For example, if you want to manifest with crystals, you can place the crystal under your pillow. If you use manifestation oils, you can put a few drops on the page or on your pillow before you go to sleep.
How to use the pillow method for manifestation?
- Write your manifestation affirmation.
- Place it under your pillow.
- Each night, before you go to sleep, visualize it manifesting. Feel all the emotions you will feel when it manifests.
- Each morning, as you wake up, visualize it manifesting.
Pillow method examples could be to place the following affirmations under your pillow:
- I am grateful for meeting my perfect partner who will soon share this bed with me
- I am grateful and excited to receive $500 unexpectedly
How long should you keep your affirmation under your pillow?
I think you should do it until your desires manifest. However, some people believe that you should only visualize your manifestation for a certain period and then release them and let the Universe do its thing. Do whatever works for you.
Align your actions with your goals
Start working toward your goals. It is not enough to engage in positive thinking and have positive intentions. You need to back your positive intentions with actions that align with and help you reach your goal.
According to Gabrielle Bernstein, author of Super Attractor and The Universe Has Your Back, you will not see any results without action. Think about what steps you can take to reach your goals yourself, then create a work plan. You need to take action and work toward your goals.
You also need to look out for opportunities that the Universe may send your way. Don’t be afraid to take chances.
Before you start taking action, spend time setting your goals and creating a plan to reach each one. Make sure you set SMART goals and follow through until you reach each one. Our free goal planner is a good way to do that.
Avoid Negative Thinking
One of the most important things you need to do when trying to manifest someone or something is to avoid negative thinking and negative self-talk. Let go of any fear, worry, anxiety, resistance, negative self-talk, and limiting beliefs.
Always focus on things that are positive. Think of something in your life you wish were different. It could be your financial situation or your relationship. Instead of focusing on what you hate about this circumstance, direct your mind to something that’s going right in your life. It could be something small and specific, like nice weather, or something broad, like your family. Let that positive feeling guide you when you are feeling negative.
Every thought you have is a message you send to the Universe, so make each one count. Make sure that all your thoughts are positive and stop your negative thinking. You must make positive thoughts a habit. To do this, Gabrielle Bernstein recommends following a three-step method called “Choose Again” in the book “Methods for Manifesting a Life Beyond Your Wildest Dreams”.
- Notice the feelings behind your thoughts. Ask yourself, “How do I feel right now?” Reflect on your emotions and take note of the energy you’re giving to the Universe.
- Forgive your negative thoughts. Negative thinking gives off bad energy, but it also helps you reveal what is bothering you. Thank your thoughts for providing this valuable service.
- Choose again. Ask the Universe to guide you toward more joyful thoughts. Open your thinking to positive, creative solutions to your problems.
Bernstein does not advise that you ignore your problems, but that you work to attract new solutions.
Make sure your energy is aligned with the energy of the Universe every single day. When you embody high-vibration positive energy every day, the universe will manifest your every wish. Each day you’re given a choice. You can give in to negativity, ego, fear, and despair or you can choose the path of gratitude, love, joy, and grace. It’s up to you.
How do you overcome negative thinking and make feeling good a priority?
When you find yourself falling into negative thought patterns, take a moment to change your perspective. Acknowledge your negative mindset, forgive yourself for falling out of alignment, then redirect to a more positive outlook.
Spiritual thinker Deepak Chopra explained that when you’re happy for a particular reason, that reason can be taken from you at any time and you won’t be happy anymore. In order to become a Super Attractor, you must learn that happiness doesn’t require a reason. It’s simply good to feel good. How do you get yourself to feel good?
Bernstein offers the following strategies.
- Try the “think it to feel it” method. If you want to feel something, imagine an event or situation in which you have experienced that emotion. For example, to feel loved, recall a memory where you felt loved and appreciated. Let that feeling guide you through the next steps.
- Affirm how you want to feel. Define your goals and desires.
- Choose a clear mantra that matches the energy you want, such as “I’m truly loved,” or “I respect my body.”
- Write this mantra down and say it aloud whenever you start thinking negative thoughts.
- Take the time to experience your desired feelings through meditation and journaling.
- Each day, find a quiet and comfortable place where you can write out your mantra. Then, sit back and take a few deep breaths. With each inhale, concentrate on the positive vibes you want to embody.
It may take a while to turn this positive way of thinking into a habit. The change may not be immediate, but eventually, the Universe will respond to your joyful outlook.
Don’t Let Fear Prevent You from Reaching Your Goals
In order to use the law of attraction and to manifest something your mindset has to be positive and one of abundance. Fear is a major obstacle to manifesting your desires. The fear could be that you are not good enough, that someone is better than you, jealousy or competitiveness. These are all negative ways of thinking that prevent you from attracting your desires from the Universe.
The Universe provides enough success for everyone so there is no reason to feel jealousy or competitiveness. Feeling these negative feelings only blocks your progress and lowers your energetic vibration. Instead, cultivate an abundance mindset. Be protective of your desires. Don’t feel pressured to share your goals until you’re ready, and don’t share your goals with known pessimists who might harm your positivity.
One of the ways that manifestation works is that it provides opportunities that you never saw before. Have you ever decided to buy a car and then suddenly you notice how many of those cars you see around you? These cars were there before but you suddenly started to focus on them and now you see them. The thing with opportunity is that if you don’t take it then it is wasted. Many people don’t have the courage to take action when the opportunity strikes. One of the ways to get the courage you need is to use Mel Robbins 5 Second Rule. When opportunity strikes, and it will when you are manifesting, countdown from 5, and when you reach 1 take action.
How long does it take to manifest something?
Have patience, and the Universe will eventually manifest your dreams. Don’t obsess about when the Universe will manifest your dreams. Instead, relax and have faith that the Universe will deliver.
Give up the false idea that the Universe should work according to your agenda. Everything will unfold as it should. You might not see it now, but in time you will realize that your desire manifested at just the right time.
What happens if your desire doesn’t manifest on time?
You need to stay positive and have faith in the Universe that it is working to get you whatever you wanted. Keep focusing on things that make you happy, feel love and joy and, most importantly, appreciate and express gratitude for what you already have. The Universe doesn’t always work according to your timeline but it always works.
What happens if your desire doesn’t manifest at all?
There are times when we think we know what will be good for us, but the Universe knows that it isn’t right. For example, when getting over a breakup, you might be sure that you want your ex back. However, in nearly all cases, when you break up it is because you are not right for each other and the Universe knows this. The Universe is helping you by not giving you what you think you need. Instead, when the timing is right, the Universe will send you someone who is much more suitable for you. Have faith. The Universe knows things we don’t know. In time, you’ll realize that you received exactly what you needed at the exact right time. So, if you tried to manifest someone specific and it didn’t work, don’t give up on manifestation in general. Instead, try to manifest love or a relationship, and have faith in the Universe to choose a partner who is more suitable and worthy of you.
What happens if your desires manifest before the time is up?
You should continue for as long as the specific system you chose is supposed to continue. So if you chose the 55-5 method which is for 5 days and you get what you wanted on the 3rd day you will still carry on for 5 days.
Is Manifestation Real?
Numerous studies show that people with a positive outlook are successful in life (including marriage, friendship, income, and work performance,). One might claim that these people are happy because of their successful lives. However, a study showed that the connection between happiness and success exists because their positive outlook caused their success. The results of the study showed that their happiness preceded their success. Their positive outlook caused them to behave in a specific way and that behavior caused their success. This is what manifestation is all about. Be positive, act like a positive person and your desires will manifest.
So many famous and accomplished people used manifestation to reach their potential. In fact, if you go back hundreds of years ago, way before the concept of manifestation was defined, and study successful people you will see that they all had something in common. They all had thoughts of abundance and wealth and were optimistic and positive. I suggest you watch The Secret on Netflix. Many powerful and successful people are interviewed there and share how the law of attraction helped them get to where they are today. It is very motivating to hear from them how powerful the law of attraction is and how real manifestation is.
My criticism of the concept of the law of attraction is that many of the best manifestation books (such as The Secret) put all the focus on changing your frame of mind and not enough focus, in my opinion, on doing the work you need to do to reach your goals. I think that manifestation and the law of attraction are necessary components to reach your goals but they are not enough. If your goal is to manifest a relationship and you follow the manifestation steps (you love yourself, be more positive, and act as if you are in a relationship) you will become a person that people will want to have a relationship with. You might meet someone by chance and he will be attracted to you since you are a positive person. However, if you put yourself out there and go to places where you are likely to meet people then, in my opinion, your chances of success will be so much greater.
People who have made a lot of money have the right frame of mind and think according to the law of attraction even if they do it on a subconscious level. However, they usually do not sit at home waiting for a check to arrive in the mail. Instead, they spend time planning how to make money and put work into reaching their goals.
So, in my opinion, manifestation is real. However, if you work to achieve your goals and combine the power of attraction with hard work then you will reach any goal you set for yourself!
What if you Don’t Believe that Manifestation is Real?
I totally get if people cannot believe in the law of attraction or the powers of the Universe, they might feel uncomfortable trying to manifest something. However, I think that the principles of manifestation and the process behind it will work with or without the law of attraction. Let’s assume that you don’t believe in the law of attraction or the powers of the Universe and you don’t think manifestation is real. If talk about the Universe and the law of attraction sounds too far-fetched to you, should you still give it a try? I say yes and I’ll explain why. The basic concept behind manifestation and the law of attraction is to be more positive and act as if you already have something. When you are a positive person people will be naturally attracted to you because it will make them feel good to be in your presence. When you act as if you already have something then you will be doing the things you do when you have it and they will cause you to actually reach your goals. For example, if you want to lose weight and you act as if you are already thin then you will have more love and respect for your body and you will be more careful about what you put in it. If you want to be more confident and you act as if you are then you are halfway there. As Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right,”.
When you try to manifest something and you start to visualize it happening you will change your behavior. You will act as if this is already true. This change in your behavior will cause a change in your circumstances and actions and this will bring you closer to your goals even if you don’t believe in the law of attraction. If you watch The Secret movie you will see how many famous people used the law of attraction without using that phrase. They got to where they were because the way they thought was based on the principles of manifestation hundreds of years before the theory was even developed or named.
I found more proof of this when I read the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, first published in 1989 by Stephen Covey. The book explains the same manifestation process without mentioning the Universe or its powers. According to Covey, people change their situations by writing an affirmation and visualizing it.
To summarize and clarify, in order to manifest something you need to believe that it is going to happen but you don’t have to believe that the law of attraction is what will make it happen.
